The Equator Society (Persatuan Khatulistiwa Kuala Lumpur & Selangor) is a registered Malaysian non-profit working so that people are paid for the data they create. It connects communities, organisations and governments to ensure the value of data is shared with those who generate it.
How do communities get paid for their data?

Equator Society programmes enable communities to create data that delivers intelligence for organisations. Partners and funders pay for validated, ground-level data, and that value flows back to the people and communities who created it.
What is Ecosystem Services Intelligence?

Ecosystem Services Intelligence is an Equator Society pillar in which local communities are paid for information from their forests about biodiversity and flood resilience. Partners receive validated ground-level data to plan for resilience and disaster management.
